Bringing Your Own IP Addresses / BYOIP

We offer three options to bring your own IP addresses. We can assign your IP ranges to your VLAN, and you can use them in a "pool" manner in a given location. At this time we do not offer anycast, or internal backhaul, or any other option to use a given IP range in multiple locations.

You can use BYO IPs with dedicated servers, per-device colocation, full-rack colocation, or any mix of these. BYO IP is not available for VPS services. BYO IP does not include custom network routing, e.g. choosing specific carriers, if desired.

Customers paying more than $2000 / month can request to waive setup fees for the options below.

Option 1: Announce your IPs as our ASN

This is the fastest and easiest option for both parties.

Requirements:

  • Letter of authorization (LOA) from the IP range owner on proper letterhead.
    • LOA must state the IP range being announced.
    • LOA must state AS63018 Dedicated.com is permitted to announce the range.
    • LOA must state valid contact information in the event upstream carriers need to confirm authorization.
    • LOA must be signed.
  • IRR objects MUST be set up and specifying AS 63018 as valid.
    • We will use IRR Explorer to confirm your IRR object. What anything else specifies, including RIR databases, is not considered when confirming IRR objects are set up properly.
  • RADB and RPKI are not required but strongly recommended.

Setup fee: $25 per announcement. You can batch multiple range announcements for a given location into a single request.

Change fee: $25 per ANY change request. You can batch multiple actions for a given location into a single request.

Examples of changes below but not limited to:

  • Announcing your IP range
  • Adding additional IP range(s)
  • Changing the CIDR division of your IP range(s)
  • Moving your IP range to a different location
  • Changing the VLAN assignment
  • De-announcing your IP range with active services remaining

Monthly fee: none.

Time to implement: 2-3 US business days. You must have any kind of active or paid pending server or colocation service in the same location.

Option 2: Announce your IPs as your ASN

Requirements:

  • Letter of authorization (LOA) from the IP range owner on proper letterhead.
    • LOA must state the IP range being announced.
    • LOA must state AS63018 Dedicated.com is permitted to announce the range.
      • This is required even when announcing on your ASN as it will be our ASN advertising your range to upstream carriers.
    • LOA must state valid contact information in the event upstream carriers need to confirm authorization.
    • LOA must be signed.
  • IRR objects MUST be set up and specifying your ASN as valid.
    • We will use IRR Explorer to confirm your IRR object. What anything else specifies, including RIR databases, is not considered when confirming IRR objects are set up properly.
  • RADB and RPKI are not required but strongly recommended.

Setup fee: $100 per location.

Change fee: $25 per change request. You can batch multiple actions for a given location into a single request.

Monthly fee: $25 per month, per location.

Time to implement: 3-4 US business days. You must have any kind of active or paid pending server or colocation service in the same location.

Option 3: BGP Session

Please be advised that BGP sessions are not covered by our SLA. Issues with connectivity arising from your improper configuration of your BGP announcement will be handled during US business hours only. Please choose one of the above options if you need to bring your own IPs and be covered by our SLA.

Requirements:

  • You MUST be able to demonstrate an ability to understand BGP session mechanics, and be able to advertise your ranges to us without our involvement beyond receiving peering IPs from us. The setup fee DOES NOT cover network design or consulting services.

Setup fee: $250 per location.

Change fee: $25 per change request. You can batch multiple actions for a given location into a single request.

Monthly fee: $100 per month, per location.

Time to implement: 3-4 US business days. You must have any kind of active or paid pending server or colocation service in the same location.
